Subject: Grant of Special Casual Leave/Compensatory Off to the staff due to MICHAUNG Cyclone - reg
This is regarding granting of Special Casual Leave to officials who could not attend office and Compensatory off to the officials who attended office during the MICHAUNG Cyclone period (04.12.2023 & 05.12.2023), in respect of cyclone/flood affected Postal/RMS Divisions coming under the jurisdiction of four Districts namely Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur and Chengalpattu. In this regard, the Competent Authority has ordered the following,
1. The officials belonging to Cyclone/flood affected Postal/RMS Divisions coming under the jurisdiction of four Districts namely Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur and Chengalpattu who could not attend office on 04.12.2023 & 05.12.2023 due to MICHAUNG Cyclone may be granted with Special Casual Leave on their application. i
2. The Spl. CL should not granted En masse. The leave sanctioning authority may grant Spl.CL subject to the genuineness of the case/reasons furnished by the officials concerned-on case to case basis.
3. The Spl.CL granted should not exceed 2 days.
4. The officials hailing from flood affected areas who attended office despite rains/floods on 04.12.2023 & 05.12.2023 may be granted with compensatory off, if applied for.
5. Spl.CL may not be granted in respect of areas not affected due to flood/cyclone. This may be informed to all concerned for information and necessary action.
